It's a bookish month here at Lambert Square, with the grand opening of the new book shop and the release of The Pajama Girls. And of course, Valentine's Day. We've go many surprises coming up for you to share with the love of your life, from the most romantic movies of all time shown for free at the Theater Guild, to sweets from SugarPuss and Dolly's Valentine's Delight. If you don't know what that is, why you'll just have to stop by.
The novel goes on sale February 14. Can you think of a better idea than to give your sweetie a love story on Valentine's Day? Of course you could preorder it, just to be sure. More on this later.
Grand Opening
This month we welcome Mayme Hurt and her daughter Bean as our newest coop associates. Early in January Mayme purchased Riverview Books and after six weeks spent on renovation, Bean's Books will be open for business on February 14, just the same day The Pajama Girls goes on sale.
Bean's Books will carry a full line of contemporary, classical and children's fiction as well as a large selection of poetry.
In addition, Mayme intends to carry some novels and newspapers in Swedish. Now we wonder who gave her that idea?
Penmanship Classes
Heep Epperson tells us that Lydia Montgomery will be offering a calligraphy class starting on the first of March that will meet on Saturday afternoons for six weeks. His Caro was the first to enroll, and so you know that it will be fun as well as educational. Stop on by Scriveners to sign up.

John Dodge swore to us that such a silly idea never entered his head, but we also must point out, in the interest of full disclosure, that Dodge was carrying a giant box of dog treats wrapped with a red ribbon when he made this claim. Scoot was too busy playing with a new ball to give us his opinion.
Don't forget that all three of the Lambert Square museums are open Monday through Saturday from noon til five. Or you could have a look at The History and Renovation of Lambert Printing. Lots of old timey photos to look at.
